mood: desperate
music: woodkid - "iron"

There are few genres in which I haven't found something I liked (this does not, as people usually expect, include rap, hip-hop, or country), so, y'know, if you've got any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.  /begging

It definitely does help, thank you. I don't know some of these artists, so now I have a number of albums to explore. (Holy shit, Blue October, haven't heard them since high school.)

Hah, ikr? My music kind of spans decades - I did not, for example, include my love of all things Journey. Because even I don't know where I got that love from!

I've got a few industrial bands I'd rec: Ego Likeness, Now and Forever or Breedless are good examples... Just about anything they've done is good! Celldweller, Switchback or Tough Guy...a bit of dubstep that doesn't suck! Anything from 2007 or later from The Cruxshadows Winterborn or Halo Not that their older stuff is horrible, it's just produced on a frayed starving shoestring tight budget, and tends more to the gothy gloomy. I:Scintilla is another one I'd rec. Prey on You Skin Tight

If you want something a little old fashioned and funny, with a storyline, Abney Park is my favorite goth (in their early stuff) / steampunk (Last 5 albums or so...A couple of examples here. Stigmata Martyr, an example from earlier stuff, and Steampunk Revolution or, and funny too, Airship Pirates for later stuff..

Shit son, I'd forgotten about some of these artists, and I don't know a few others. Aww yiss.

Abney Park is a bit hit-and-miss with me, but "Airship Pirates" and "The Secret Life of Dr. Calgari" were always favorites.

I guess I'm rather conservative, music wise, seeing at how the playlist currently playing is 'oldies' ;D

That said, I have (re)discovered Adele, thanks to her song for the opening of 007: Skyfall. I have mixed feelings for her music, but Skyfall is... just beautiful ♥

Depending on what you consider 'oldies,' we could still be friends.

"Skyfall" was one of my most-played songs for a while. <3

Voyager Golden Record. Favorite tracks include "El Cascabel", "Johnny B. Goode", and "Gavotte en Rondeaux" (rather repetitive, and if I recall correctly, you don't truck with that sort of thing). There's a version of the Queen of the Night's Aria from The Magic Flute, but I don't really like that version. Here's one I like better. (And it's also my unofficial theme for Jenova, because...

Disowned be forever,
Forsaken be forever,
Shattered be forever
All the bonds of nature,
If Sarastro does not turn pale [in death] because of you!
Hear, gods of vengeance, hear the mother's oath!

But in German.
